More than 20 partners, 2 affiliated entities and 9 subcontractors from 13 European countries are collaborating in the project. More than 9 Ministries of Defence also support the INDY.

The INDY project is coordinated by the Slovenian partner TECES, Green Tech Cluster, with the support of the Slovenian Ministry of Defence (Si MoD), which is also responsible for coordinating and directing the involved representatives of the Ministries of Defence.

Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is a global leader in applied research, focusing on vital future technologies and facilitating their commercialization to drive innovation.

Fraunhofer is represented by its Institutes for Technological Trend Analysis (INT) and the Institute for Chemical Technology (ICT), both having vast experience in the field of defence research and development on behalf of the German MoD and its subordinate offices. We provide numerous experts for advisory bodies of governments, e.g. in the energy sector, and working groups of defence organizations (such as EDA and NATO).

Role in the INDY project

Fraunhofer INT focuses on long-term technological foresight for energy technologies relevant to energy independent and efficient deployable military camps, while Fraunhofer ICT is focused on energy storage systems, hydrogen technology and their safety in military applications.
